New poker conference from LIPS

2006-02-13 15:30:00

The Ladies International Poker Series (LIPS) is to hold its first annual LIPS Poker Conference.

Historically, LIPS events have unsurprisingly been for women only with last year's Ladies Tournament at the WSOP serving as a culmination of proceedings with 600 women competing against one another.

However this year's inaugural LIPS Poker Tournament, to be held on April 13th and 14th in Las Vegas, is looking to attract men to the fold.

The event will be held at Binion's Gambling Hall and Casino and will feature seminars conducted by tournament directors Linda Johnson and Jan Fisher, according to pokernews.com.

Others that will be talking at the event include 2005 double World Series bracelet winner Mark Seif, WSOP and WPT champion Kathy Liebert and veteran of the game Roy Cooke.

The event will cost $425, which includes three night's accommodation and meals. There is also the option of a buy-in for a No-Limit Tournament that would cost another $125 – all applications must be received by March 31st.
