New WPT-branded poker room at Foxwoods

Foxwoods Resort Casino is collaborating with the World Poker Tour (WPT) to implement a new poker room.

The move is significant as it represents the first time that a casino poker room will take on the widely recognised WPT branding.

Kathy Raymond, Foxwoods poker spokesman, said: "It makes sense for the two giants in the industry to come together and do something.

"It's what the players have been asking for."

The new poker room is due to be opened next month and will be expanded from 76 tables to 114 as well as introducing automatic card shufflers so that waiting times will be sizeably reduced.

New gambling technology in the poker rooms will also be introduced to enable players to sign up to play more easily.
