The endless surge in popularity of poker has seen the launch of another high profile event - The American Poker Player Championship.
Representing a joint venture between Binion's Gambling Hall & Hotel and Omni Media & Entertainment, the new tournament will take place between May 10th and May 24th.
Based in gambling Mecca Las Vegas, Binion's Gambling Hall & Hotel will be hosting the event and is expecting a huge turnout.
The venue also has a fair bit of experience in hosting top notch gambling events as it has previously put on the prestigious World Series of Poker (WSOP).
Cary Davis, president of Omni Media, said: "The American Poker Player Championship is a response to the tremendous popularity of poker in America today."
He added: "We are proud to provide this new venue and anticipate great success because it will be a multi-event tournament, with cash prizes in each event and the main event will be an affordable $5,000 buy-in championship."
Tom McEvoy, WSOP winner, will feature in the tournament as will the Ladies WSOP champ, Susie Isaacs.
