A US student has managed to grab the last spot for the upcoming Heads-Up Poker Championship to be held this April.

Josh Lochner, a wildcard entrant, won the 64th and final place and beat 30,000 other contenders in doing so.

The 21-year-old will now play in the NBC 2nd annual Heads-Up Poker Championship at Vegas' very own Caesars Palace.

Lochner said "I still can't believe I won. To have a chance to play against the very best is going to be amazing," reports CardPlayer.com.

The competition will be televised on NBC from April 16th and operates in a unique one-on-one single elimination format with all 64 competitors battling it out for the top spot.

The defending champion, Phil Hellmuth, will face stiff competition from another of other well-recognized poker pros including Phil Ivey and Chris "Jesus" Ferguson.
