Mike King, a New Zealand comedian, is set to take on some of the country's finest poker players later this month.
He has entered himself into the New Zealand Poker Championships, which is to be held at Christchurch Casino from April 7th to April 8th.
And when it comes to the tournament pot it would seem to be no laughing matter, with $200,000 up for grabs.
However, King says he is not 'in it to win it' but is instead looking mainly for the bragging rights.
He said: "I pity anyone who sits at my table whether I'm winning or losing I am constantly ribbing the other players riding them like a horse.
"I'm not a poker genius but I can certainly clean up any average player. But then luck does come into poker and a complete novice can clean-up a professional with the right flop of the cards."
