Poker inspires Ant and Dec game show

UK television duo Ant and Dec have sold an idea for a new game show that was inspired by poker.

The Con Test will feature a hefty £1 million prize pot and will see contestants take part in six heats in which they must bluff their opponents to win the jackpot.

Broadcast on ITV later this year, the programme consists of six heats, with prizes worth £50,000 each, and a grand final in which a £1 million prize is up for grabs.

The pair, who host I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! and Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, filmed a pilot show in February and it is the first UK game show that guarantees one contestant will win a million pounds.

Ant said: "I don't play poker but I've always liked the idea of bluffing your opponents. This game is all about cunning and being able to hold your nerve."

Ant and Dec, aka Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, claim that they came up with the idea for the game two years ago and have since tried it out on friends in their local pub.
