Kathy Liebert is one of the leading women on the world poker scene and is currently ranked third on the World Series' list of top female money winners.
In recent years she has won the Poker Royale: Battle of the Sexes tournament, beating 11 other men and women to net $100,000 and claim international recognition.
Prior to Battle of The Sexes Liebert scooped £1 million in prize winnings in 2002 and won the $1,500 Hold'em Shoot Out Event at the 2004 World Series.
Liebert worked as an executive in the corporate world before giving it up to chase her dream. After quitting her job, she jumped on a plane for Las Vegas where she sat down at a poker table for the first time.
She then moved to Colorado to pursued skiing and here she developed her love for poker in small mountain towns that had recently legalised gambling.
Liebert, now in her thirties, is a role model for all women considering entering the exciting world of professional poker, especially for those who had no prior experience of the game.
And however she performs in the future, she will always be known as the first female tournament poker player.
