Online Casino backed in TV programme

A high-profile US television show has produced a special report on the growing online casino sector.
The recently broadcast special on the world of online casinos dismissed suggestions that the sites are dishonest and explained the rapid growth in internet gaming.
According to Online Casino News, the 60 Minutes special dispelled the myth that online casinos are illegitimate and provided a good introduction for members of the public unaware of the online casinos phenomenon.
The programme featured interviews with top online casino companies and experts, including Nigel Payne of Sporting Bet and Steve Lipscomb of World Poker Tour Enterprises, as well as a guide to the various aspects on internet gaming and the sector's development.
The US currently has a relatively ambiguous regulatory approach to online casinos and some lawmakers in Washington are pushing for a total ban on internet gambling.
Senator Jon Kyl was interviewed for the show, explaining why he wants to see a ban on online casinos in the United States. Previous attempts to ban internet gaming have failed at the US Senate.
The 60 Minutes special closed with Nigel Payne calling on US officials to regulate and monitor casinos properly, in order to gain greater control of the industry and ensure only legitimate companies are able to operate.
