Movie star Burt Reynolds has been cast as a poker shark in a new flick about the popular card game.
Writer-director Gil Cates Jr is reported to have developed and signed up to direct Deal, which will start shooting in New Orleans next month.
Reynolds, who recently starred in The Dukes of Hazzard, will play a former gambler who teaches cocky college student (Bret Harrison) how to play poker and is drawn back into the World Poker Tournament (WPT).
Reynold's poker player will face his own student in the final of the prestigious competition after the pair fall out, according to Variety magazine.
Shannon Elizabeth and Charles Durning have also been cast in Deal, alongside poker professionals Phil 'The Unabomber' Laak, Antonio 'The Magician' Esfandari and Vince Van Patton.
Poker has become increasingly popular in recent years, with a boom in online gambling and television coverage.
