The online poker craze looks set to continue, with a glut of books about the subject released recently.
Publisher Simon Spotlight Entertainment has announced that it is publishing a third book by poker professional Phil Gordon.
Available from this October, the latest offering from Gordon will join the shelves of poker guides and books on making money from the card game currently on bookshelves.
Tricia Boczkowski, executive editor at Simon & Schuster subsidiary Simon Spotlight Entertainment, told CIO Today that demand for books on online gambling and poker playing is still very strong.
Poker has become more and more popular in recent years, as an increasing number of tournaments are televised and it becomes more accessible over the internet.
Publishers now plan to cash in on the online gambling phenomenon, with books that provide instruction on the internet poker market in particular. Renowned poker writer Doyle 'Texas Dolly' Brunson released Online Poker in 2005 and it has sold well.
Editor-in-chief of PokerNews.com, John Caldwell, commented: "There's a new culture of online stars being born. Those people could write a book and sell a few copies."
