A UK schoolteacher has stuck it to the big boys by beating a number of professional poker players to win a tournament in New Zealand.
Alan Goodrum came from behind to beat Nick "the Gun" Nicolau despite having a huge chip deficit at the final table.
The UK schoolteacher called Nicolau's bluff with a flush and won an impressive $62,000 for his efforts.
He will also receive a seat at the 2006 World Series of Poker Main Event, taking place in Las Vegas at Harrah's Rio All Suite Hotel.
Goodrum said: "It's just an amazing feeling. To win the Peter Peko poker title earlier in the week and then to go on and take out the big one is just unbelievable."
