A lowly card dealer has shocked the poker playing community by winning $3.76 million in the World Poker Tour championship.
Joe Bartholdi, a 26-year-old from California, beat 604 other players to win the staggering jackpot.
Despite working as a card dealer in Las Vegas, Bartholdi didn't think he had the skills to win but his friends told him otherwise.
He told AP: "I changed my mind and decided to believe as well. I was at the point of total bankruptcy
It just came in at the right time."
At one point, he was so poor he even owed around $80,000 in credit card debt.
The runner up Davidson Matthew from Canada won $1.9 million as a sweet consolation prize.
