There is set to be an online competition in which poker players will design poker chips with the winner seeing their idea appear in a new poker chip line.
The competition has been organized by Sidepot Gaming Company and ChipTalk.net, an internet poker forum, and the winning design will feature in Sidepot's upcoming poker chip line, the Protégé.
Stephen Aarstol, Sidepot president, said: "The high-end home poker chip market is still very limited, compared to what it could be.
"We wanted to push the envelope and get away from the typical top-down design approach - we wanted to involve our core customer base, chip collectors and poker players, who collectively have many great ideas about what types of chips they want to play with."
The competition will feature seven stages including general discussion, submission, voting, through to final judging.
He concluded: "As a community of chip aficionados, we are all invested in bringing a truly fine home clay poker chip to the market and we felt that this contest gives us that opportunity."
