Figures from the gambling industry have converged in Sweden for the inaugural World Poker Congress.
The poker event will be held in Stockholm and this year's schedule plans to look into the evolution of the game and also the relationship between land based poker and the hugely popular online poker sector.
Sue Schneider, River City Group president, said: "Online poker operators are facing increasing competition at all levels.
"The World Poker Congress will highlight the strategies, products and services that will help any online poker room stay at the top of their game."
High profile speakers at the event include Steve Lipscomb, the president of the World Poker Tour (WPT) and also Jeffrey Pollack, the commissioner of the World Series of Poker (WSP).
One of the areas for discussion is the current trend for poker players to earn their stripes playing online before then trying their luck and skills in live poker rooms.
