New Annie Duke poker show

A new poker show launched this week on GSN called Annie Duke takes on the world.

The show will offer a $10,000 prize and pits other poker players against the former World Series of Poker (WSOP) champion.

Contestants on the show battle against each other in an attempt to win a place to play Duke at the end of the show.

There is a wide cross-section of players involved in the programme with the first show including a musician, a telephone cleaner, a children's book author and a brain surgeon.

Ms Duke also critiques player's skills during the preliminary games and offers them a range of advice on their key plays.

The programme should throw up some interesting poker battles especially given Duke's pedigree – she won her first WSOP bracelet in Omaha in 2004.
