North American Poker Tour postponed

2006-05-04 16:15:00

Fans heading to the North American Poker Tour will be disappointed to discover that the event has been postponed.

The reason is that the organizers of the International Poker Association (IPA) are rescheduling some of the annual events to make sure they happen closer together.

It means the North American Poker Tour will take place four months later than originally thought.

Wade Mezey, North American Poker Players spokesman, told Poker News: "In evaluating the best interest of the players and the tour, it was determined that the tour should run as a continuous and smooth season and not be scheduled around the World Series of Poker."

The first event will now take place in September.
