PokerTek earns industry award

PokerTek has been awarded a prestigious industry award in recognition of its innovative products.

The company was named as the winner of the Platinum Award for the Most Innovative Technology Product for 2005 at the Las Vegas Gaming Technology Summit.

The Casino Journal presented the award to the US-based PokerTek for its development of the PokerPro poker table which allows ten people to jointly play Texas Hold 'Em.

The table has been a success with casinos throughout the world and is already proving popular with players in the US, Australian and the UK. The unique poker table combines live action and computer graphics in a unique playing experience.

"For the PokerPro tables to win first place as the most innovative technology product of 2005 is a great honour for our company," said James Crawford, president of PokerTek.

He added: "This award was selected by both operators and our peers in the gaming industry and further validates the innovation and hard work that we have put into making PokerPro the most profitable poker table in the industry."
