A new online course aimed at educating internet casino and poker room workers about responsible gaming has been launched.
Training and communications company O/E Learning has unveiled the new web-based programme that covers the history of gambling addiction, ways online casino staff can tackle addiction, early signs of problems and different types of treatment available.
Online casino regulator eCOGRA (eCommerce and Online Gaming, Regulation and Assurance) is holding its second annual global training course at the end of this month in London.
The O/E Learning course has been developed for those online gambling professionals that are unable to attend eCOGRA training and it includes an introduction to gambling issues and a pre-evaluation test for staff.
ECOGRA requires online casinos and poker rooms awarded the 'Play It Safe' seal to have trained members of staff overseeing responsible gaming measures. Managers will take part in two days of intensive training provided by a team of specialists from the international Global Gambling Guidance Group (G4).
Entitled 'Responsible Gaming', the course aims to raise awareness of problem gambling, through the use of specific examples and modules, helping gambling bosses to spot the signs and combat gambling addiction, according to Online Casino Reports.
