2006-06-21 09:30:00

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has agreed a deal with Swiss watchmaker Corum for the company to manufacture the official timepiece of the tour.

A six-year deal was announced between Corum and a Harrah's Entertainment subsidiary earlier this week.

Jeffrey Pollack, WSOP Commissioner, said: "The world's most prestigious poker tournament fits perfectly with a luxury brand like Corum. We both share a commitment to excellence and distinction, and we share a deep passion for the excitement, heritage and richness of poker."

"This is a landmark deal for the World Series of Poker."

Under the terms of the deal, Corum will be required to manufacture and market watches for the WSOP brand.

The company will also produce special commemorative watches for the finalists and winner of the WSOP $10,000 buy-in No-Limit Texas Hold'em World Championship showcase event.
