2006-07-06 10:00:00

Hollywood has gone poker mad with the possibility of three new poker-based films being made in the next six months, reports suggest.

Tinseltown producers are currently negotiating the filming of three poker films called Lucky You, Positively Fifth Street and Smokin' Aces.

And some big names are set to make appearances in these movies including Drew Barrymore of Charlie's Angels fame, Robert Duvall and Ben Affleck.

John Ridley is the man responsible for the script adaptation of the James McManus novel Positively Fifth Street.

He said: "We finished the screenplay, and we're really close to going after some actors and making some money offers.

"It's Jim's true story of playing an unbelievable string of poker in the World Series of Poker at the casino owned by the Binion family while a murder trial was going on, because Ted Binion had been murdered by his mistress."

Ben Affleck, who is all set for a roll in Smokin' Aces, is something of a poker fan having already made appearances on TV show Celebrity Poker Showdown
