Innovative new poker show

A new poker show called The Poker Dome Challenge will monitor what players are thinking by taking their pulse.

The programme will air on Fox Sports Net in the US and will attempt to get under the 'poker face' of some of the top industry professionals, reports Associated Press.

John Faratzis, executive producer, said: "These people are bare naked. The interesting thing for me is to see whether that accelerated heart rate and that attention shows on their face.

"You get to find out: How astute a competitor are they? Can they mask that? Or are they truly a calm individual?"

One of the show's first competitors, Andrew Rogers, had a heart rate of 140 during the poker hands which quickened to 160 between breaks.
