Following six days of play in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) main event there are 1,159 players still in the hunt for the humungous $12 million jackpot, according to reports.
With play resuming on Friday, Dmitri Nobles was in the lead at the WSOP Main Event on Wednesday evening with 549,200 chips.
The $10,000 buy-in No Limit Hold'Em tournament is being held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino and the remaining players have been whittled down from an original compliment of 8,773, reports the Associated Press.
A final table of nine players will sit down to contest the $12 million prize on August 10th while even those up to the 873rd place finisher will receive a $14,597 prize for their troubles.
Kathy Liebert is still in the running &ndash just about &ndash with 48,500 chips while Phil Ivey is on 23,400 chips and defending champion Joe Hachem lurks dangerously with 114,100 in chips.
Surprising exits from the 37th ever WSOP Main Event so far includes Phil Hellmuth Jnr, Doyle Brunson, Greg Raymer and Men "The Master" Nguyen.
