Report: Future of online poker is bright

A new report claims that the future of online poker is extremely healthy.

The Irish firm Research and Markets.com has given internet poker firms a real boost by claiming that poker has the best online potential of any gambling game over the next three years.

The Global Business of Poker report has cast light on a number of trends that have emerged among players' habits that give cause for optimism.

It found that the majority of online poker players enjoy a game on a weekly basis, compared to offline players, who tend to play a few hands far less frequently.

In addition, as authorities in the US consider the possibility of outlawing online casino sites, those surveyed said that the biggest threat to the poker world would be such a measure.

The results will provide poker sites with a real case to put towards US officials if banning proposals continue to be discussed.

Growing celebrity participation and television exposure as well as the increasingly good prizes on offer have helped more and more people turn to online poker for their entertainment, the report asserts.
