WPT finals commence late October

The eagerly awaited World Poker Tour finals are to be the final event of a three-week poker festival at Foxwoods Resort Casino.

Boasting the world's largest casino and over 1,400 guest rooms, Foxwoods will play host to every stage of the finals &ndash from the start of qualifying on October 25th, right through to the televised finale on November 17th.

And with the prize pot expected to top a staggering $15 million, the stakes couldn't be higher.

Terry Chiaradio, the boss of poker operations at Foxwoods, said of the upcoming event: "The prestige, participants and prize pool continue to grow each year."

"We're expecting more than 6,000 entries and based on last year's winner, it's anyone's game," he added.

Last year Nick Schulman pocketed a cool $2.1 million in becoming the youngest World Poker Tour champion.

The Foxwoods complex features six casinos, over 50 restaurants, and a 100 table poker room &ndash America's largest.
