If you find you can lose a hand at poker even with great cards, Interpoker may have come up with just the jackpot for you.

The firm's Bad Beat Jackpot means that should you lose a hand when holding what would normally be a stunning set of cards, both you and your fellow players may be entitled to a big payout.

To qualify when playing Texas Hold'em, four of a kind with jacks or better has to be beaten, with both players utilising their hole cards.

When 7 Card Stud and Omaha Hi or Hi-Lo are the games, four of a kind with jacks or better is again the requirement, with at least two of the cards in the losing quartet from the hole.

In all cases, the losing hand receives 50 per cent of the jackpot, the winning hand gets a quarter share and the final 25 per cent is shared out among the other players.

But how much is the jackpot?

Well it starts at $2,500 and rises by $150 a day, meaning that a losing hand could turn in to a big winner.
