A World Series of Poker (WSOP) competitor is being investigated by authorities in Texas over claims of illegal gambling.
Richard Lee, who made the final table of the WSOP main event earlier this month faces claims that he was involved in what mysanantonio.com called an "extensive illegal internet gambling operation".
"Our vice detectives have been conducting a comprehensive investigation where they believe proceeds from illegal gambling have bought a lot of items in this house," the police spokesman Joe Rios told San Antonio television station WOAI.
Over $500,000 dollars in gambling receipts that are believed to belong to Mr Lee have reportedly been recovered by the police.
Mr Lee won $2.8 million for his sixth place finish in Las Vegas but there is talk that he could stand to lose this if it is found that his entry fee was bought using money won through illegal gambling.
No arrests have so far been made.
