New poker video game from Activision

Activision has released a new video poker game which promises to be far superior to that of its predecessor.

World Series of Poker: Tournament of Champions features over 20 top pros, along with extensive tools to help develop the player's poker playing ability.

In the game players take the opportunity to compete in the invitation-only Tournament of Champions.

Dave Oxford, company spokesman, said: "World Series of Poker: Tournament of Champions immerses players in the real world lifestyle of a poker pro from rubbing shoulders with celebrities to competing in the world's most prestigious events -- including the Tournament of Champions."

The Activision game has an Xbox 360 version whereby players can use a digimask to transfer their face directly onto their character's face in the game.

Ty Stewart, director of sports and entertainment marketing at Harrah's Entertainment, said: "Poker has been in video format for some time, but never has there been a sensory experience like this that replicates what it is like to walk in the shoes of a professional poker player."
