Poker players march on Washington

2006-10-09 16:15:00

A proposed law in the US is making waves among online poker enthusiasts who are reportedly outraged over the bill's stipulations and plan to march to Washington today.

The new law would cease online poker and other gaming by limiting financial access to the sites for US citizens.

March organizer Debbie Richardson told online-casinos.com that she wants all supporters of online gambling to come out to show their support.

"Everyone that can possibly go needs to show up and fight for freedom," she said.

"If we let them take this right away from us, what else is next?"

The proposed bill follows increased tension in the online gaming community after a series of high-profile arrests of gaming CEOs.

Many gaming websites are restricting access to new members to mitigate risk of violating the current confusing gaming laws.
