Competitors at the upcoming Irish Poker Championship will be vying for an estimated prize pot of half a million euros.
The January event, part of the European tour, will run from Thursday January 4th to Sunday January 7th just outside Dublin.
The overall winner is expected to walk home with a staggering €200,000, which works out around £134,000.
"Last year was Europe's biggest tournament, in terms of the number of runners, we expect record numbers again this year," tournament organiser Donal MacAonghusa told pokernews.com.
"This will be one of the biggest poker tournaments ever staged in Europe. With the addition of our new pub tournament poker league more new people have become involved in tournament poker and this can be only good for the game," added Fintan Gavin, championship promoter.
The prestigious Citywest Hotel &ndash which boasts two golf courses and extensive leisure facilities &ndash will host the event.
Television coverage of the event will be available on both RTE and Sky.
