Small Town Poker Tour joins the WPA

The non-profit governing body of poker tournaments everywhere has inducted the Small Town Poker Tour (STPT) to the ranks of Third Organisational Member.
The move by the WPA is thought to legitimise the tour, showing a greater goal of fair practice and standards in poker tournaments.
STPT is the world's largest amateur poker tour staging world-class events for some of the best amateur players.
The tournament raises all funds for charities in the tour, allowing them to play in nearly all US states and many countries around the world.
The one-year-old WPA already has 800 individual members, and the STPT will be the third organisation after the Swedish Poker Federation and PokerStrategy.cc.
Jesse Jones, WPA founder, said: "The WPA is thrilled to have the STPT on board and looks forward to their insight and contributions moving forward.
"Their involvement speaks volumes to the necessity and longing for an organized and unified voice for tournament poker."
