Stars line up for Asian poker tour

The largest poker event on the Asian continent just got its first hint of credibility with two Vietnamese poker superstars set to play in the Betfair Asian Poker Tour this November, according to online-casinos.com.

John "The Razor" Phan and Liz Lieu are professional poker players in America and are sure to give the tournament a little hint of glamour.

Mr Phan was shortlisted for poker player of the year because of outstanding results in the World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour events, winning 10 major tournaments in his career, winning just under $3 million.

Ms Lieu's career is relatively new on the pro circuit and already has impressive finishes.

She is known for her "glamorous image" and "flair for bluffing" while becoming the World Series of Poker final table grand finalists.

The two are friends and are keen to play in the tournament which is a little closer to home.

"It will be interesting to follow poker's growing popularity in Asia at close range," said the couple.

"Asians are always good with games and that is one of the reasons why so many players of Asian origin have been so successful in the world of poker, especially in America."

The pair also hope to recruit some new and unknown members to their poker team at martinspoker.com.

An estimated 400 players will attend the week-long event in Singapore between November 12th and 18th.
