Gunther von Hagens, the controversial artist who once performed a live autopsy on UK television, has announced that his latest exhibit will be based around poker players.
The artist's latest grisly display plans to use dead bodies to recreate a scene from forthcoming James Bond film Casino Royale, it was revealed.
Daniel Craig, who is playing the famous spy for the first time in the new film, will be among the actors replaced by cadavers. Von Hagens will use his plastination technique, which involves replacing the bodies' fluids and fats with plastics, to ensure that the corpses do not decay.
The exhibit will be on display in von Hagens' own museum in Guben, Germany, which is due to open in three weeks' time.
Casino Royale is released in theaters later this month. Earlier in the year it was revealed that Mr Craig did not know how to play poker, and was receiving coaching from European Poker Tour director John Duthie as a result.
