Legendary poker player David 'Devilfish' Ulliot has triumphed at the Five Diamond World Poker Classic event in Las Vegas, it has been revealed.
The British professional won the $2,000 buy-in event, earning a gold bracelet, a seat at the $25,000 World Poker Tour finals in April and a cheque for $266,000.
The poker ace, who shot to worldwide fame in 1997 when he won the World Series of Poker, is the highest-earning British poker player in the history of the game, according to recent estimates.
His latest victory came at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino, with competitors including Brad Booth and Noah Boeken eventually proving no match for Ulliot. A tense final hand saw Ulliot out-kick Strzemp to win with a pair of aces.
The Five Diamond Classic runs until a week before Christmas, with numerous other no-limit satellites being held in the run up to the $15,000 main event on December 14th. The final table will be televised on December 19th.
