High Stakes Poker set for third season

2006-12-12 16:04:46

The most high-profile televised poker tournament in America is to return for a third season, it has been announced.

Screening on GSN, the new season will feature a host of famous players including Chris Ferguson and reigning World Series of Poker (WSOP) champion Jamie Gold, the television channel has confirmed.

Running for 13 weeks, the season also features 2006 WSOP runner-up Paul Wasicka and returning players such as Eric Lindgren.

GSN has confirmed that the programme will continue with its huge cash giveaway policy, with buy-ins starting at $100,000 and $1 million on offer in the Texas Hold'Em competition.

"We have put together an all-star line up of players who brought more money to the table than ever before," said president and chief executive of GSN Rich Cronin.

Gabe Kaplan, who is also competing in the tournament, will commentate on the action with AJ Benza.
