2007-02-01 16:16:49

Broadcaster NBC has revealed that the successful National Heads-Up Poker Championship will be returning for a third season in March of this year.

Held in conjunction with Caesar's Palace, play will take place at the luxury Las Vegas resort from March 1st to March 4th, in preparation for two month's worth of highlights to be aired on NBC.

The tournament is aiming to continue to promote itself as a top-class, prestigious event, with seats now costing $20,000, and a first prize of over $500,000.

Numerous big name players have already signed up to take part, including Doyle Brunson, Chris Ferguson, Howard Lederer, Daniel Negreanu and two of 2006's big winners, Joe Hatchem and Jamie Gold

In total 64 players will compete in the randomly seeded event, with competitors grouped into Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs and Spades sub-sections during the original draw. The fast paced event will see blinds being raised every 12 minutes.
