The inaugural Asian Poker Classic in Goa will feature a number of stars after a fresh batch of famous players signed up for the event.
The televised event will take place from March 1st to March 5th, with Ram Vaswani, Arshad Hussain, Surinder Sunar, Lee Nelson and Mel Judah all now set to feature.
The event offers a guaranteed $1 million prize pool, with Indian celebrities expected to join the stars and online players in competing for a share of the prize.
Competition is expected to be fierce, with the likes of Surinder Sunar &ndash Paris Grand Prix winner in World Poker Tour (WPT) &ndash and Lee Nelson &ndash Aussie Millions winner in 2006 &ndash among the stronger players.
"It is fantastic to see such high-profile players participate in India's first poker tournament and I'm looking forwarded to hosting them and Europe's top Asian poker players," said Sachin Pawa, chief executive of sponsor Maharajah Club
"The surroundings in Goa and huge prizes on offer mean the Asian Poker Classic will be one of the most exciting and eagerly-awaited events on the poker calendar," he added.
