The 2007 National Poker League tour will begin with an event held in Paris on May 13th, it has been announced.
The French capital's Cercle Gaillon casino will host the event, which is set to take place despite ongoing uncertainty regarding France's position concerning both online and offline gambling.
The Paris Open will feature a number of €4,000 buy-in events as it runs between May 13th and May 22nd, with televised broadcasts being made available to some 500 million households.
Organisers claim that the tournament will be the largest poker event ever held in Europe, with professionals from across the world expected to be in attendance. Casinos in Paris, London, Los Angeles and Marrakesh are among those currently holding satellite qualifying rounds.
An exclusive party on May 21st will add to the event's glamour, as a charity event sponsored by some of Europe's leading fashion designers takes place at the Queenie Club.
