World Poker Tour celebrates 100th episode

2007-04-20 18:00:00

The World Poker Tour (WPT) is about to notch up a century of episodes after just five years of transmission.

The 100th show will be filmed next week in Ballagio and will air August 8th on the Travel Channel.

It looks as though tension will be full-pitch for the closing event, which lasts a week, requires a $25,000 buy-in, and will bag its winner a check for millions of dollars.

Steve Lipscomb, founder and CEO of WPT, commented that he "couldn't ask for a more fitting way to celebrate these incredible milestones".

He described Bellagio, also the location of WPT's first ever episode, as "a key charter member who helped us launch the World Poker Tour and create a global phenomenon."

"To come full circle back to where it all started and film the biggest event of the year, shoot our 100th episode, and conclude our 5th season… it's just truly amazing", Mr Lipscomb enthused.

The Bellagio Hotel and Resort in Las Vegas is home to the famous 'dancing fountains' and advertises itself as a place of "beauty, elegance and luxury".
