Day two of the World Poker Tour (WPT) Championship held at the Bellagio, Las Vegas, saw two hardened professionals rise to the top of the leaderboard.
Roland de Wolfe, last year's European Poker Tour (EPT) winner, and Phil Hellmuth, who has himself secured ten World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets over previous years.
Wolfe is just $35,000 higher than the Hellmuth in terms of chip value, with both players looking good to finish in the upper echelons of the tournament or even secure the $3.9 million prize.
The English player and EPT champion is no stranger to big money wins after he scooped over €500,000 Euros in winning the EPT Dublin event last October.
Other famous names still in with a chance include JC Tran, Patrick Antonious, Robert Mizrachi and 2006 WSOP main event winner Jamie Gold.
In total 214 players are left in the competition, and are due to be reduced to around eight to ten for the final table when it begins on Friday.
