A new academy project designed to give players the chance to prepare themselves for the forthcoming World Series of Poker (WSOP) tournament has been unveiled by organisers.
The WSOP Academy Main Event Primer aims to combine entertainment with a concerted look at the tactics needed to make it to the final table and stand a chance of winning poker's biggest prize, it has been claimed.
Running from July 3rd to July 5th, the event will feature advice from Phil Hellmuth, Greg Raymer and Joe Hachem.
Players who win the academy's two private tournaments will then get the chance to put their training to use courtesy of the prize &ndash a seat at the Main Event, worth $10,000.
"Where else could you have lunch with Phil Hellmuth, party with the top poker players in the world at Pure [nightclub], have your play analyzed by Greg Raymer, and have Joe Navarro dissect a tell you're giving away at the table?" said Jeff Goldenberg from organisers Post Oak Productions.
The World Series of Poker runs from June 1st to July 16th this year.
