Darrel Dicken is leading the pack at the Mirage Poker Showdown in Las Vegas, but hardened pro Phil Ivey is close behind as the tournament goes into its third day.
Ivey, yet to win a single World Poker Tour (WPT) event despite his high standing among fellow pros and spectators alike, ended the second day on $310,000 chips, $90,000 behind leader Dicken.
Players such as Erick Lindgren and Kathy Liebert were among those to fall by the wayside on the second day of the $10,000 no-limit event.
Elsewhere there was a missed opportunity for Kirk Morrison, bidding to become the first ever player to rank in the money at five consecutive WPT events. Morrison's challenge never really got going and he had to be content with his streak of four placings in a row &ndash a record held with Daniel Negreanu &ndash when he was eliminated back on day one.
With three days to go, the $1,066,295 first prize remains very much up for grabs.
