The world's richest poker game began today in Las Vegas and is due to run until the middle of July.
This year's World Series of Poker features 55 events and will be capped by a 12-day Texas Hold'em event.
World Series of Poker organisers have for the first time planned to stream ten final table showdowns over the internet, although ESPN will continue to televize the tournament's main events.
Tournament commissioner Jeffrey Pollack said: "We've dialed it up a notch in terms of all of our broadcasting and media initiatives.
"This year, the World Series of Poker is being carried around the world and across every medium that matters."
Gambling professionals to watch out for at this year's event include Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth Jr and Johnny Chan.
