Poker veteran Tom Schneider, a 47-year-old radio host from Arizona today battled through to the end of event number five in the World Series of Poker (WSoP).
He fought off talented competition that included Huck Seed, Bill Gazes and Chau Giang to win $214,347 and a gold bracelet made by luxury Swiss watchmaker Corum.
The $2,500 Pot Limit Omaha & 7 Card Stud Hi / Lo started off with 327 players.
But by the time it came to the final table there was only Schneider, Chris Ferguson, Annie Duke, John Phan, Chris Bell, Joe Bolnick, David Benyamine and Edmond Tonnellier, reports the Online Casinos website.
Tonnellier, having fought through the aces, finally confronted Schneider but was beaten by the veteran player. Duke and Ferguson came third and fourth respectively.
A certified accountant, this was Schneider's third time at a WSoP final table.
