Wasicka welcomes KFC career boost

Poker player Paul Wasicka has said he welcomed the opportunity to appear in a Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) commercial.
The 2007 NBC National Heads-Up Champion said that has was glad to be affiliated with the fast food giant as it was a positive step for his career.
"This new relationship with KFC presents me with a fantastic opportunity to reach a broader base of fans. It was an honor to be asked to work with them," he remarked.
As well as Wasicka, poker players David Williams and Gavin Smith agreed to eat chicken on ESPN cable television.
The commercial debuted during the Hold'em or Fold'em section of the ESPN broadcast of the Main Event.
One marketing agency believes this is a sign that advertisers are starting to see the potential of the poker industry.
"This is a great step forward for Gavin, Paul, David and poker in general," said Brian Balsbaugh, president of Poker Royalty.
