'Bart Simpson' to host poker night

Nancy Cartwright, who voices the animated character of Bart Simpson, is to host a mini poker tournament, it has been announced.

Ms Cartwright, who also happens to be the honorary mayor of North San Fernando Valley, is inviting people into her home for the second annual Monte Carlo night.

The event starts with a Texas Hold'em tourney and monies raised will go towards a Police Activities League Supporters youth center for at-risk children.

A donation of $500 will earn players a buy-in and prizes include seats at a World Series of Poker satellite.

The event is due to take place on September 29th at 17:30 local time in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Northridge.
