Poker After Dark to star previous victors

2007-09-28 14:42:55

The next episode of the new series of Poker After Dark will air on October 1st and three winners from the last series are back to claim their second title and compete for the £120,000 first prize.

Joining the three previous victors – Phil Laak, John Juanda and Clonie Gowen – are Annie Duke, Andy Bloch and David Williams.

Described as "must-see television" for casual viewers and poker enthusiasts, Poker After Dark will culminate in a finale in November.

This will showcase the skills of the six players who are seen on the opening of every episode.

Viewers at home can keep track of the action thanks to the wonders of technology.

Poker cards are embedded with special radio frequency ID tags so that viewers can see a player's cards when they are dealt.

This is the second season of the made-for-television Texas Hold'em mini-tournament. It debuted in January 2007 and was hosted by presenter Shana Hiatt.
