Caesars Palace to host Ladies' poker camp

2007-10-02 15:47:38

A ladies' poker camp has been pencilled in for January 25th and 26th at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Organised by the World Series of Poker (WSoP), the event has already signed up Annie Duke, who will be one of the instructors passing on a wealth of knowledge.

According to All In magazine, this type of event sells out very quickly and female poker hopefuls are advised to contact the WSoP as soon as possible.

Each woman who makes it through to the poker camp will have to contribute $1,699 as a down payment.

Last month, a ladies' poker event at the California State Championships caused something of a stir when male players gatecrashed an event.

Due to anti-discrimination laws the men could not be refused, but the decision to let them play angered many female players who felt they were being deliberately intimidated.
