Julian Thew lifted his first-ever European Poker Tour title on Wednesday, in Baden, Austria.
The Englishman was the last man standing after the four-day tournament which began with 282 participants.
He takes home a prize of 670,800 ($872,040).
Thew entered the final day in second place behind Vladimir Poleschuk, who quickly set about dominating the table.
Vladimir eliminated Anton Alleman (60,000) on the first hand of the day, and then took out Ted Lawson just a few hands later (83,600).
Poleschuk's game began to drop off, however, while Thew's only grew stronger.
Manfred Hammer was eliminated next (132,900), followed by Thierry Van Den Berg (132,900) who ended in 5th place.
Thomas Fuller went out in fourth (160,820) and finally Poleschuck was eliminated in third place (225,000), leaving Thew and Denes Kalo left.
Kalo (375,000) went all in with the short stack and Thew walked out as champion.
It's the biggest win of Thew's career.
