He started the final table in second to last place, but Markus Lehmann walked out of the World Poker Tour (WPT) Spanish Championship on Tuesday as the winner.
Lehmann dominated the final day, building up a 2-1 chip lead before finally vanquishing Ludovic Lacay to win the first prize of 537,000 ($761,519), PokerListings reported.
For finishing second Lacay takes home 295,200, while third-placed Christer Johannson won 191,000.
As for the rest, Steve Sung finished in fourth place, poker star and yesterday's chip leader Gus Hansen came fifth and Vladimir Poleschuk finished sixth.
The starting field at the Barcelona tournament consisted of 226 players.
Next stop for the WPT is the North American poker championship on October 26th, which will be held at the Fallsview Casino Resort in Canada.
Buy-in for the event is $10,000 CAD, with an entry fee of $300.
