Company starts selling marked poker cards

2007-10-29 10:07:02

Sets of marked poker cards are now available to buy from Play.com.

Each card is marked on the back, showing those in the know the card's suit and number.

The product states: "Make money hosting poker nights and increase your chances of winning."

However, there is also a disclaimer where it says the cards are intended only as a novelty item and that there is no intention to encourage cheating.

Redferret.net suggested that the cards would be a means of living on the edge, saying that poker players can "play [themselves] rich or dead".

The card set retails for £4.99 ($10.26) and has an average rating of four stars on Play.com.

According to the reviews they are good for card tricks but the markings perhaps are not quite as "undetectable" as the manufacturer would have the buyer think.
